Start Operations From July 1 (Ashar 17)

The domestic flights in Nepal will be operational from July 1 2021. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation has directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to operate domestic flights without increasing 50% of the total number of flights from  July 1 2021 (Ashar 17, 2078) until further orders.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers last Monday decided to reopen the suspended flight conditions for control of the Covid-19 epidemic and the Ministry of Tourism has decided to operate a regulatory domestic flight.

The ministry also directed CAAN to make arrangements for international flights to scheduled destinations from Thursday (June 24). The ministry has made public the flight schedule for June 30, 2021. On June 24, 2021 Nepal Airlines Corporation (Nepal Airlines) will fly to Doha, Qatar, and Turkish Airlines will fly to Kathmandu from Istanbul.


Similarly, on June 25, 2021, a Nepal Airlines flight will fly to Japan and an Air India flight will fly to Delhi-Kathmandu. Qatar Airways will fly Doha-Kathmandu on June 26, 2021. Turkish Airlines will fly to Kathmandu. On the same day, an Air Arabia flight is scheduled to fly from Abu Dhabi to Kathmandu. Similarly, on June 27, Nepal Airlines will fly to Doha. On the same day, Himalayan Airlines is scheduled to operate one flight each to Kuala Lumpur and Dubai in Malaysia.

Qatar Airways' Doha-Kathmandu and Jazira Airways from Kuwait to Kathmandu, according to the Ministry of Aviation. On June 28, 2021 Nepal Airlines will fly to Dubai and Himalayan Airlines will fly to Dammam, Saudi Arabia, while Qatar Airways will fly from Doha to Kathmandu. On June 29, 2021 Nepal Airlines will fly to Doha. It is said that Turkish Airlines will fly to Kathmandu on the same day. Fly Dubai will fly to Kathmandu, Oman's Salaam Air will fly to Kathmandu. On June 30 2021, Nepal Airlines will fly to Dubai, Himalayan Airlines to Dammam, Qatar Airways to Doha, and Jazira Air to Kuwait-Kathmandu.

To control the Covid epidemic, the government suspended domestic and international flights from May 3 and May 6, respectively. The government had issued prohibitory orders in various districts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, since April 29, 2021 following the outbreak of Covid.
