7 New Rank Purposed in Nepal Police

The government has started the process of adding seven ranks in the Nepal Police to increase the additional financial burden on the country.

As per the proposal of the police, the Home Ministry has sent it to the Ministry of Finance for final approval with the consent of the Ministry of Law. If Ministry of Finance agrees to the proposal, the Council of Ministers will have to take a decision regarding promotion and professional development according to the added rank. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, there is a proposal to add three ranks in the police including Senior Deputy Inspector (Senior SA), Senior Constable and Assistant Constable. Similarly, it has been proposed to increase the rank of police office assistant from the internal promotion to the fifth level. This rank is in the Armed Police Force.
