Recently Nepal Police has Proposed New Ranks and Level Progress to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Nepal Police has Proposed 2 New Post Assistant Head Constable and Additional Police Inspector in Nepal Police and Level Progress of Police Constable, Head Constable, Assistant Sub-Inspector and Sub-Inspector.

Purposed Rank of Nepal Police Details:

If the Proposed New Ranks & Level Progress was approved the Police Constable Receive the salary, facilities and standard of the Head Constable (Current Rank). After serving maximum 5-6 Year as Police Constable they will automatically promoted to Assistant Head Constable (AHS) and similarly after maximum 5-6 year working as (AHC) they will promoted to Head Constable (H.C). This rules may end the current promotion problem of Police Constable to Head Constable as well as the police staff salary and facilities were also increased in the same ranks as in present situation. In current situation a police constable need to server 12-16 years to promoted as Head Constable. According to New Proposal Head Constable Level will also progress to Assistant Sub-Inspector of Nepal Police (Current Rank Level). They will received the salary and facilities accord to the ASI received in present condition as well as after serving maximum 6-7 years in HC they will automatically promoted to ASI which solve the current promotion problem of HC to ASI. According to present condition it takes 8-12 year to promoted from HC to ASI. Similarly after serving as ASI for maximum 7-8 year they will automatically promoted from ASI to SI. 

After serving for maximum 7-8 year SI will promoted to Additional Sub Inspector which means that the level was progress from non-gazetted level to gazetted level and receive the the facilities and responsibilities of the gazetted officer. For serving maximum 7-8 year Additional Sub Inspector will automatically promoted to Police Inspector of Nepal Police. Other Rank and progress level will continue similarly as it is.
