Server in Nepal Testing By Worldlink

Server testing of popular video game PUBG has started in Nepal. As publisher users and international bandwidth consumption increased in Nepal, Tencent sent its servers to Nepal. Nepal's largest internet service provider WorldLink Communications Limited Chief Technical Officer (CTO) Samit Jan, said that the server is currently undergoing testing. "The server is currently being tested," he said, "but I'm not sure when it will go live." However, it can be expected that they will send it live within a month. '

At present, about 10 Gbps international internet bandwidth is consumed by PUBG alone from WorldLink. Overall, the service providers say that there is 20 to 25 Gbps traffic from Nepal. As there is a lot of traffic, Pubji's server is also kept in WorldLink.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. This means that the company has not disclosed whether it will send all the traffic to the pub or not.

It remains to be seen how much of a difference this will make to Pubji's ping and to what extent gameplay will improve. CTO Jan said that two cash server nodes are currently being tested. "After the test, the number of live server nodes will reach ten," he said.

Currently, most of the public traffic to Nepal comes from cloud gaming data centers in Hong Kong, Singapore, Mumbai, Frankfurt, Japan and Silicon Valley. But it is not yet clear how Tencent sends traffic to which data centers on the WorldLink server.

However, companies like Google, Facebook, YouTube, Tiktak, Akmai, Cloud Flair have already been operating in Nepal with their own servers. Most of these platforms save 40 to 90 percent of international bandwidth.

Service providers have experienced that the efficiency of the server varies according to the platform and application. Since Pubji is a real time application, even the traffic patterns that are differentiated by the cash server may be different from others.

However, he said that the real situation could not be ruled out. Even if the server comes live, it remains to be seen whether it will have a game server or not.

However, there is a possibility that Tencent can set aside a certain portion of the server for the game server if it so chooses. People say that all the decision whether to keep only cash or connect gaming server is in the hands of Tencent. Even if Pubji's server is placed on WorldLink, it will be an internet traffic exchange and other service providers and users will also benefit from it.
