Nepal's Football Team Members receive cash prize of Rs 500000 each

The government has decided to award the members of the Nepali National Football Team, who finished as runner-up in 13th SAFF Championship held in Male, Maldives. According to government spokesperson Gyanendra Bahadur Kakri, a meeting of the Cabinet held on Monday made a decision to provide a cash prize of Rs 500,000 each for Nepal National Football Team, who participated in the SAFF Championship and Rs 300000 each for the the coaching staff.

Nepali football team made it to the final of the tournament for the first time in the 28-year of the history of the SAFF Championship. Nepal’s dream to lift the SAFF Championship title shattered after they suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of India in the final match of the regional tournament played at Male in Maldives on Saturday.

Nepal, who had defeated Maldives 1-0 in the first match, hammered Sri Lanka 3-2 in the second match. Nepal lost to 1-0 at the hands of India in the third match and held a 1-1 draw against Bangladesh in the fourth match.
