Strict Smart Lockdown Started in Kathmandu Valley From Friday: The forceful system will be implemented in the Kathmandu Valley from 12 noon on Friday with the objective of preventing corona infection. A joint meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur on Thursday decided to implement a strict system (Odd/Even) on public and private vehicles from 12 noon tomorrow (Friday).

After the meeting, Chief District Officer of Lalitpur Ghanshyam Upadhyaya informed that strict action has been taken against public and private vehicles as per the procedure of smart lockdown.

According to him, vehicles with Odd Number on Odd Day and Even number in Even Day will have to operate from 12 noon on Friday. The decision will also apply to two-wheelers. The previous rules of not allowing more passengers than the seat capacity, including masks are required.

Shopping malls, department stores and other shops and party palaces will not be allowed to admit more than 20 people at a time if the vaccination card is mandatory. Only half of the total capacity will be allowed to enter hotels and restaurants.
