Pay of Recruits During Training

  • All Recruits Shall Receive A Stipend During Their Training Period At The Rate of Rs. 14,600.00 Per Month. On Successful Completion on Training Military Service Pay, Group ‘X’ Pay (If Applicable), Dearness Allowances and Allowances of The Trade to Which They Stand Allotted Less The Stipend Would Be Payable.

‘X’ Group artificer apprentices sailors would be eligible for ‘x’ group pay @ rs 3,600/- per month whilst undergoing training and on completion of training post acquiring diploma approved by aicte, ‘x’ group pay @ 6,200/- per month would be eligible.


B) Pay Scale Officer

  • Sub Lieutenant: The rank of a Sub-Lieutenant is the lowest among the officer’s ranks and it is also the most basic rank and individuals must begin with this rank to achieve higher ranks through promotions.
    • Salary:  56100-177500

  • Lieutenant: The lowest rank after the Sub- Lieutenant rank among the officer category of Indian Navy is the rank of a Lieutenant who has to serve for a certain period to acquire promotion to the higher rank.

  • Lieutenant Commander: The rank that is one rank higher than the Lieutenant is the rank of a Lieutenant Commander and for those individuals with this rank will be offered with the following salary package.

  • Commander: Commander is a common naval and air force officer rank. Commander is also used as a rank or title in other formal organizations, including several police forces.

  • Commodore: Individuals who have served for a certain period of service as a Captain will have an opportunity to be promoted to a rank of Commodore a rank higher than the Captain.

  • Rear Admiral: Now if an individual has served as a Commodore for a certain period with exceptional service can be promoted to a higher rank of Rear Admiral. So the salary package offered for the rank of Rear Admiral will be.

  • Vice Admiral: Vice admiral is a senior naval flag officer rank, equivalent to lieutenant general and air marshal. A vice admiral is typically senior to a rear admiral and junior to an admiral.

It is usually a rank above admiral (which is now usually the highest rank in peace-time for officers in active service), and is often held by the most senior admiral of an entire naval service.
